Greyhound Racing

Tipperary is synonymous with great greyhound racing. There is a rich tradition in the breeding and training of Ireland's greyhound stars past and present. There are two fantastic greyhound stadia in Tipperary which provide four nights racing each week throughout the year. A trip to these special events will give you a real insight into the Irish Love for sport.

Horse Racing

What an experience a trip to the races is for all the family! A spectacle full of fun, anticipation and excitement, with fast horses and brave jockeys competing for coveted prizes. Tipperary is steeped in all areas of horse racing tradition. It is a world renowned nucleus of stud farms and training stables such as Coolmore Stud and Ballydoyle Racing Stables. So where better to come racing than at one of Tipperary's three race courses, Clonmel, Thurles and Tipperary, which offer both flat and jump racing throughout the year.

Equestrian

Equestrian activities and Tipperary have always gone hand in hand. Great horses, people and beautiful countryside have enticed visitors for generations and that tradition continues today. Throughout the course of the year there are show-jumping, cross-country, dressage and eventing competitions for spectators to enjoy. For those that want to participate there is something for all standards of rider from beginner to advanced in a range of disciplines such as show-jumping, cross-country,hunting, dressage, trekking, eventing and polocrosse.

One day Itinerary in Tipperary

Stay in Tir na nOg.  Begin  in the 4th century Rock of Cashel and take in life in pre- Norman Ireland. Follow that with a trip to Fethard Medieval Walled Town. Drive on to Carrick on Suir and vist Irealnd's only Tudor Manor (Ormond Castle) before going to Clonmel to visit the famous West Gate, continue onto Cahir and delight in the wonderful Cahir Castle & Swiss Cottage  taking in all the beautiful landscape scenery of the Mountains and Valleys of Tipperary.
